Given that many of the cars in the club are down for R&R right now, I wouldn't expect a force-showing at the strip any time this month. :(

Yes, that was my only time.....

I need to check for boost leaks on Sunday, re-set my MBC with a shorter hose, and practice my launches. Plus, my front mount is just killing me... dropping from 15psi to about 11-10ish! Fuck the t25.

But, the weird thing is that I trapped the same speed on the 16.1 as I did on the 14.6 run (89mph).

MPH... 74.73
1000.. 12.238
1/4.... 14.690
MPH... 89.71

LAST NIGHT
R/T... 1.012
60'.... 2.620
330... 7.003

Ok homie look at your slips on the best run you had a way better reaction time and a better 60'ft so that explains your better 1/4 mile time and the only thing mph tells you is HP so just fix your boost leaks and partice luanching i see low 14's maybe high 13's in the near future.

Yeah... The reaction time, and the 60' really killed you, Mike. You only got 1 pass? What time did you get there, and how many cars were there?

I wanted to take it kinda easy on it last night, which is why I didn't really launch it. I wanted to see how well my short shifter was going to work - and it did beautifuly - the best $50 spent ever.

I thought reation time doesn't really matter. Doesn't the clock start the second you start moving? I know the 60' was horrible. I soft launched at around 4k and it bogged. Maybe my clutch is pooping out lol. Oh well. Hopefully I'll get everything fixed on Sunday and maybe make it out again next Wednesday.

Yea, reaction doesnt matter. You can wait a minute and it wont change your 1/4 mile until you move.

My best run last night was a 15.6 @ 87 with a 2.2 60'. Funny...cuz it was my first and best run of the night. ran a 16.1 and a 16.0 cuz I f*cked up the launches...the 16.1 came with a 2.6 60' *eww*

but hey....im basically stock and it was my first time ever at the track. I gotta practice my launches.

Amen.

RT starts when the greens light. RT ends when you leave the prestage/stage beams.

ET starts when you leave the beams, ET ends when you break the beams at the big end.

First one to the big end wins though, so work on that RT anyway.

Mike, it looks to me like you were taking it gentle on the car for most of the pass though, not just the launch. Your 60's are ~.6 apart, 330's are ~1sec, and 1/8th is ~1.2 sec, etc. -- but the MPH at the 1/8th is off by 4, and at the end is off by .6mph. That or the car maybe bogged on the 1st to 2nd shift.

I only really took it easy on the launch, all the rest was pretty quick/hard shifting. Definately gonna check for boost leaks, make a new bracket for my mbc to position it closer to the wastegate so it will shorten the length of hose used, and practice some launches. I'd much rather fry the clutch here, than at the track. Because if I did it at the track, the way my parents are, I could say goodbye to the track for a long time

And O, I ended at the top of third.

Practicing launches on the street won't help you too much at the strip. Any of our recent track-outing participants can promise you that.

I don't mean on the street street, I mean like on a back road or something.

Idk Mike, from what I saw you took it pretty easy the whole way. No launch and the shifts were kinda granny looking (least thats how me and my friend saw it..... brooooom..Pause.......brooooom) I think you can definatley shave some time off.

I know what you meant, but that's not what I was referring to. I meant that the surfaces are so different it's near impossible to practice track launches on the street. Street launching is waayyyyyyy "softer" than a launch at the track because of the lack of surface preparation -- a 16g powered AWD can burn all four in 1st gear on a "hard" street launch. That same launch technique used on a 1/4mi launch pad will net you a bogged motor and possibly even stall the car (don't ask me how I know).

The one thing I will say you'll get from street launching though, is you'll have already learned a good bit of clutch control, so when you get to the strip it's less of a matter of learning about the car and more a matter of how it wants to work at the strip. :)

So far as the surfaces go, I suppose the best way of putting it that I can think of is that a regular road is to sand paper as a track surface is to fly paper.

Also, the more power you make, the more different it will be.

I hear you man. I was just going to try and get the feel of the clutch, as you said. Thanks.

Umm, if you ever see a "prepped" track at Moronso, let me know-- that'll be a first.

They may not have the best track prep in the world, but it's still prepped well enough to make your car bog with an average wheels-spin-on-the-street launch.
