As nice as this would be to set-up, it's probably better to just wait till Oct. 15 for Moroso to reopen. Plus it'll give more people locally to get their respective set-ups up to speed (i.e. - myself, Will, Brian etc.). Going so far away limits the amount of people (drivers/chickens
) that would be able to attend. Not to forget the high gas prices and our present economic state. Our club spans 4 different counties now, and it would be nice to have a decent amount of SoFla DSM cars going down the track as opposed to the usual 2 sometimes 3.
Plus I am kinda of partial to Moroso since it's only 20-30 minutes from my house.
P.S. - It might be prudent to start a new thread so we all can pick a day when the new track is ready so everyone has time to coordinate with a decided date. That way we all have something to look forward to and time to get our S$#t straight. There's 4-5 "potentially serious cars that I know of in the club so far and I think others will agree that SoFla DSM need to start flexing some of it's muscles lol.
Couldn't have said it any better myself. I TOTALLY agree with you, Ed, about this meet situation. Expecially now that gas is rediculous, and the meet does span 4 different counties. Maybe itd be better to meet maybe once a month at the track....I think it'll give everyone more insentive to come to the track/ meet....Race, hang out, see other cars and get our name out there. I think it'd be cool to know that when we pull up, people know that we have about *potentially* 4-5 12 second cars ready to go. I can say this right now, Id work a lot harder to attend a SoFlaDSM meet if it were at Moroso, maybe just once or twice every couple months. Not to say I can go to the Checkers meet right now since I work every Sunday, but its true. Sunday is a hard day for some poeple to get out...something during the week *like a Wednesday night test and tune* would be a lot more helpful for all of us to get together. Just my .02...
this may be a bit off topic, but it popped into my head lol.
