I'm not hauling the beast to OH to run brackets. I might go, but the car sure won't.

That's because you suck... :P

I'm caught between a rock and a hard place right now. I really want to
go, but I should've already made hotel reservations. But the car isn't
quiet ready yet. Plus in two months am I still going to have a job?
At the current gas prices, I estimate I will spend over 500$
(going, coming and in-between) and I better not break anything :!:
It don't look good for me rigth now, I might just hold out for the Sept meet?

So nobody from here is going? There was a thread started on SFR
about this and I think just two or three people from there are
going to caravan up...

This really blows....

They are going to caravan all* the way to Ohio? Damn.

People from all over the country go to the shootout every year.
FL to Ohio isn't too bad. If my car was ready, and I had the money, I
would go. And by myself if I had to.

Wow, It just seems like a far trip to drive the car youll be racing in Ohio, to Ohio and back. Or would you just be going to watch?

This year I would've gone to watch, hopefully next year participate.
Shane you do realize that this is the mecca of DSM's. The Buschur
Shootout is how it all started. And why it keeps so many people hooked,
like myself.

You make it sound like if there is nothing to gain, why go there? If
you're a true DSMer, it's almost an obligation...

It's a three day event and proabably the most fun you'll ever have.

I said nothing of the sort. If you wanna go, then have fun, but saying Im not a true DSMer because I dont want to make the 500plus dollar trip is just an obscure thing to say. Same with since I didnt know of the big buscher forum that you told me about, does that make me less of a DSMer too? Trust me, if it was in Florida Id be there in a HEARTbeat. But Ohio is just to much for me, a 18 year old, still paying to fix up my DSM and It doesnt leave me with enough to joy ride to Ohio. But if you go, take vids and pics, wish I could go.

Now O I see you telling everyone all this stuff but be honest with everyone are you really going to go? Thats a long and expensive trip for us "Florida" guys to do when we are most of us BROKE and still trying to fix our cars. I mean i dont know anyone that would take a trip to ohio just to see a great dsm in action i will see people post vids of what he does and be happy with that. I dont mean to be harsh or be an asshole "this time" but be real with yourself and calculate all that it would cost and then post back.

Shane, I apologize if you thought I was saying that you're not a real
DSMer. The statement is, "If you(anybody) feel you are a true DSMer,
than you should feel obligated to go"

And 20g, That's your point of view / opinion. I'm not going to have this
thread become an argument. If I had the money, which right now I
do. But I just cannot spend it right now or I would go. It doesn't matter
when or where, I love these kind of events. And I'm always down,
and you know this. I live the farthest from everything and everyone
(the meet, everybody's house, etc...) and I always show up.

Anyway, I just want to know if anyone was going?
And BTW, 20g alot of folks from TB DSM are planing to go,
including Joe B.

Marco went 8.80, not 8.70.

Dan Buschur is now the fastest Evo in the world. Edged out AMS by ~.4 sec.

I'd love to see Goodwill go 9's (maybe 8's?) on a 16g.

Give this man another beer....

And shane, that link is old. I'll wait till IMV releases
something. hopefully....

Also, I cannot believe how fast everybody is going now-a-days,
this is ridiculous :wow: Everybody ran their car, even Curt Brown

Will, by the time you get around to getting your shit together it's
going to be a mediocre acomplishment.... Jezz, I
watched another version of the Shep run from the stands(POV)
and you can see the poeple there as well as the camera person
having a hard time keeping up with Shep.

No shit. 12's have been "slow" for a while now. Thankfully 10's are still considered mildly fast.... Most of the big-time privateers are shooting to hit 8's in the next year or two though. :wow:

Guess, in the future ? I'm gonna have to build a single digit ET
monster. I would've been happy with a ~11sec AWD daily. But
that's a joke now....

No joke. Evil Eagle is doing 9's in his DD.

You also have to take into consideration that no matter what the "IN" crowd is shooting for, people have different goals im happy with a low 12 sec awd daily. But thats me, people can be out there breaking 6's on street tires all they want but I will be happy with my little car and having fun with it. I'm not looking for a full race car im hunting for a daily driver with all amenities being able to have fun with cars on the street and enjoy everymoment I have inside my car why.....BECAUSE IT'S MINE!!!!! 8)

That's all fine for you but I feel the need  And if the
next guy is going 10-9's in his daily then, I need to be right there
with him or faster. That's my personal enjoyment.... 8)
